Andrea Frentiu, Lead Instructor

Andrea Frentiu has over 14 years of experience in teaching English to ESL students, from beginner to advanced levels. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Romanian Language and Literature, and she earned her Master of Arts in British Cultural Studies. She also has a certificate in TESOL.

 

Since graduating from university, she has taken part in several professional development courses in Canada, in Great Britain and in her home country. She believes in lifelong learning and is constantly working on upgrading her teaching skills and broadening her knowledge about the field of teaching English as an additional language.

Andrea specializes in teaching speaking, reading and word formation, focusing on Latin and Greek roots. She is passionate about teaching grammar and can break down the most difficult grammar points into easily understandable units.

She successfully passed several language proficiency exams, including TOEFL iBT, IELTS Academic, and Cambridge Proficiency, and she is ready to share her experience with students preparing for these exams. At Franklin, she has prepared and helped many students pass the TOEFL iBT and IELTS tests with high scores.

Andrea is fluent in English, Romanian, and Hungarian. Other languages she studied include French, Spanish, Italian and Latin. She believes that the more languages you speak, the richer you are. In her free time, she likes to read and expand her knowledge of English and American literature, as well as catch up on the latest novels. She also loves to travel and discover other countries’ culture and traditions.
