Is the LPI too difficult? Are you getting frustrated with writing essays?
TheLPIis required by most BC universities. It can be a source of frustration for both local and international students. TheLPIfocuses on writing ability, but also tests competence in error identification, reading comprehension, and passage summary. Having advanced grammar skills and a reasonably large vocabulary is crucial to succeeding on the test.
A deep understanding of English grammar enables anESLwriter to construct complex sentences. Likewise, a vocabulary of essentials allows the writer to produce a more accurate and appealing essay.
TheLPIprogram at Franklin consists of a simple but effective strategy: Golden Rules + Word Formation + 100 Killer Words + LPI Writing. With this approach, students quickly conquerLPIdifficulties and watch their frustration and worries disappear.
Imparting the secret of the Golden Rules to the class, Frank Miao shares his expertise and the findings of his 18-year-long research in the area. The Golden Rules cover the problems thatESLstudents often face.
By learning word formation, students can dramatically expand their vocabulary, which is not only useful in writing, but also in reading. Even more important are the 100 Killer Words which fiercely boost the level of a student’s writing.
