At Franklin, TOEFL iBTwriting practice essays is a cumulative project, each essay increasing the strenghs and reducing the weaknesses seen in the previous effort.
Improvement can be seen in a student's writing in as little as three essays, and often by the tenth essay, major and permanent improvement is obvious.
In Franklin'sTOEFLiBT Writing Workshops, essay correction consists of far more than a few comments scribbled on a page. OurTOEFLessay revision classes involve in-depth discussion among the writer, the teacher and other students about the choices made in the essay and strategies to avoid making future mistakes and improving the overall quality of the nextTOEFLiBT writing essay.
At FELCVancouvercampus, our TOEFL iBTpreparation programs are structured around the format of the TOEFL iBTreading tasks. We use a variety of TOEFL prep. materials, includingTOEFLreading comprehension passages of superior quality developed in-house by ourTOEFLiBT team.
We focus on expanding students' background knowledge so that they are familiar and comfortable with a wide range of topics that are most frequently tested in TOEFL iBTreading section, including the Sciences, Social Sciences, Business and the Arts.
OurTOEFLiBT reading comprehension classes are an excellent opportunity to encounter new vocabulary in context. By narrowing down the words to their roots, and simultaneously opening up the concepts into clusters of synonyms, students have a deeper understanding of what they are reading. We also draw attention to sentence structures that students can use for tasks of the TOEFL iBT writing section.
TOEFLiBTSpeaking can be one of the most difficult part of the test forESLstudents.
OurTOEFLiBT prep. classes are a friendly mix of outgoing students who aren't afraid to speak and shier students who still lack a bit confidence in their English.
However, after a bit of time at Franklin, even shy students are eager to speak up and communicate in English.
In class, we practice theTOEFLiBT Speaking Section questions as they will appear on theTOEFLiBT, using the practice questions to increase students'TOEFLvocabulary andTOEFLrelated knowledge.
We are one of theTOEFLiBT test centres in the GreatVancouverArea.

ManyLPIwriters get frustrated because, no matter what they are taught or how many essays they write, they encounter the same promblems over and over again.
«I just don't know what to say!»
Surprisingly, after just a few writing workshops at Franklin, students simply don't say this anymore. Simple logic and thinking templates are the key. What's more important, when students have a clear idea about what they're trying to say in an essay, sentences tend to simply become gramatically cleaner on their own.
«My writing is too simple»
We've got you covered there too. Franklin will guide you through the process of vocabulary and structure expansion, as well the process of idea elaboration and specificity.
«I keep making the same little mistakes»
Solution. At Franklin, you will become skilled at revision as well as an expert scholar on your own mistakes! With some time, you won't be able to stop yourself from spotting (and correcting) those pesky little language errors.
If you have ever found yourself saying any of the above to yourself while writing an essay, Franklin English Language College can help you.

The Language Proficiency Index (LPI) is a standardised test that assesses a student's proficiency in the English language; it is used by many colleges and universities in British Columbia.
A brochure from UBC introducing aspects of theLPIis available here.
The most important part of theLPItest is the 300 to 500 word essay. At FELC, you will learn about the types ofLPIessay topics you will face and how to respond to them. YourLPIessays will be revised with you one-on-one, and you will come to understand what your strengths and weaknesses in academic writing are. You will also have access to the various classes and resources at FELC to improve your basic language skills.
